Cartwheel Galaxy;

Cartwheel Galaxy

A collision between a large spiral
galaxy and a smaller spiral galaxy
gave the Cartwheel Galaxy its cool
funkadelic shape and colors
by Nathan'ette Burdine: August 4, 2022

Funkadelic is the first thought coming to mind while looking at the Cartwheel Galaxy and its cool colors that the James Webb Space Telescope gave us an image of.

Just look at it!

Cartwheel Galaxy;

It’s a beaut! The cartwheel shape with all the red, white, blues, and yellows against a black background. Mothership is all I could think about.

While thinking about the Mothership, I also began thinking about how the Cartwheel Galaxy got to look so much cooler than our galaxy.

Milky Way Galaxy;

The Cartwheel Galaxy was like our galaxy, spiral, just blah.

But then, two spiral galaxies, a big one and a little one, were moving really fast in space and then BOOM! The galaxies were like:

     “Ow, ow, ow! Hey, watch where you’re spiraling!"

     "You watch where you’re spiraling!”

The big and little galaxies spiral out of control so that they broke enough pieces off each other for the “universe junkyard scraper” to add two brand new shinny rings on to the Cartwheel Galaxy. One of the shiny rings is in the inside part of the galaxy and the other is in the outer part of the galaxy. The outer ring has billions of stars which means the chances are great of having life, of some kind, form in the Cartwheel Galaxy.

You see folks, the Cartwheel Galaxy is waaaaay bigger than our galaxy. As a matter of fact, the Cartwheel Galaxy is so much bigger than our galaxy that our galaxy can sit down, with room to spare, inside the outer ring of the Cartwheel Galaxy.

Remember I mention something about life forming and we’re in a galaxy where life is?!

Folks, stop and think for a moment. If our galaxy that has life in it is so small that it can sit inside the Cartwheel Galaxy, imagine how much life the Cartwheel Galaxy has.
